Sometimes MDT deployments fail and leave the disk in a 'dirty' (failed) state. In MDT 2013 you are given the option to continue the deployment in progress or clear it and start a new one.
In MDT 2012 Update 1 and earlier you have to manually clear the failed deployment.
1 Steps total
Step 1: Clear the failed deployment
NOTE: These instructions assume you are working on a PC that has no data of value and wiping out the drive won't cause any loss. Use at your own risk!
When you see the message about the existing deployment in progress do the following:
Press F8 (opens a CMD window)
Unplug any USB drives or other 'mass storage' devices - you should end up with just the internal hard drive left (CD/DVD drives don't count here)
In the CMD window enter: DiskPart (launches the Disk Partitioning window)
In the DiskPart window enter: list disk (this will show you a list of discs available)
If all other drives were unattached then only 1 disk will be listed - note the number associated with the disk (most likely it will be ZERO)
In the DiskPart window enter: select disk # (where # is your disc number)
In the DiskPart window enter: clean (this will wipe the disk clean of all partitions and therefore clear your 'dirty deployment')
In the DiskPart window enter: exit (should close)
In the CMD window enter' exit (should close and reboot)
MDT2013 addresses the issue of a 'dirty' deployment environment automatically. For prior versions you have to manually clear the disk, but the process is quick using DiskPart.

MDT 2013 does not really address the issue. This issue will arise when you deploy the Win2012R2 OS on a VM using a PXE boot and occurs after the first OS reboot. The reason it comes up is that you neglected to change your boot settings in BIOS from the NIC card that connects to the PXE access point to the HARD DISK. If you see the 'dirty' deployment screen, just reset the box and change the BIOS boot order

Left for dead 4 mac torrent. This information was written in regards to working with physical machines and our experience with Virtual Machines (VMs) created in VMWare Workstation. MDT2013 does handle “dirty environment” much better than MDT2012 by automatically detecting the issue, providing an option to ignore and start the image process over from scratch.
Recent experience with VMs using Windows 8 Hyper-V does show that the issue can be “falsely” indicated if you re-image a Hyper-V VM using the existing Virtual Hard Disk (VHD) and are using PXE boot from the network adapter.
To re-image via PXE and use the existing VHD switch the Hyper-V BIOS setting to boot from your network adapter and begin the image process. Monitor the Operating System (OS) installation waiting for the first reboot after the OS is downloaded and installed. When the VM begins to come back up quickly hit the “power off” button. With the VM powered off you would then open it’s settings and set your hard drive to be the first boot device.

Actually.I need to revise my former statement: If you use a clean box, either VM or Physical, and go into BIOS, selecting the following boot order: Hard Drive, PXE, any, any and then boot into WDS PXE Server, the Windows 2012R2 Server OS will install correctly. On the first attempt to boot up, it will bypass the HardDrive because there is no bootable image/file available and thus will go to the PXE access point to begin the Windows Server setup. The Windows setup will then install a boot file on the existing physical hard drive and so during the reboot process, when the first boot device is processed (the hard drive with the new setup files), the Windows setup process will complete successfully. My answer above was incorrect because the 'dirty' environment is encountered by incorrectly setting the PXE boot as the first bootable device. Hope this is clear!

The reason for this error and some deployment share errors is because the C:MINNIT folder exist and there are older configuration files. MDT is trying to use those files to carry out the deployment by default. When you perform the steps posted in this 'HowTo' this will delete the MININT folder and the older config files forcing the client PC to look at the MDT server for the latest deployment rules and bootstrap settings. I am not sure if they ever scripted it in the gather to remove this folder automatically on the client PC. Would not surprise me if they did not.
I have seen some applications cause this error during the Install Applications step in the TS as well.

Hello! I followed the instructions and cleaned the disk but the dirty environment error message still flashes each time I try a new deployment. The Win 8.1 installation runs to the end and gives me the option to press any key to restart the machine. When I press a key it rolls back to the boot menu screen where it gives me the option to run a new PCI LAN installation. Then it pops the dirty environment message over and over again. How else do I delete the C:MINNIT folder and older configuration files since cleaning the disk isn't working for me? Thank you.

The way to qipw the image thoroughly is a trick I learned from my Jedi Master ...its easy as follows:
Diakpart...hit enter
List disk....hit inter
Select disk 0 (your drive)..hit enter
Clean.....hit enter
Format quick- must use as stated...hit enter
Exit twice..Following this easy prompt will wipe the enter drive
And puts the control back in your hands.Thank you..
